Lemongrass Tea Recipe

Lemongrass Tea Recipe
(www.sukyee.wordpress.com)

Lemongrass tea relaxes during migraines, and aids to sleep better. It helps lift a sagging spirit and also helps with stomach cramps, in digestion and has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Not too bad for a little plant!

To make it more fragrant and soothing, use fresh lemongrass and serve the tea with a spoonful of honey.
Ingredients
6 stalks of Lemon Grass
3 cups of water
Sugar or Honey to taste

Method:
1) Boil 3 cups of water on high fire

2) While the water is boiling, wash the stalks of lemongrass under running water. Remove the outer layers of the lemongrass until you see the white parts of the stalk. Using the blunt side of the knife, pound and bruise the white ends of your lemongrass stalks

3) Place the bruised lemongrass stalks in a teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot and let it steep for 5 minutes.

4) Serve your lemongrass tea with or without the sweeteners (either sugar or honey)
