Buttery Cooked Carrots (www.allrecipes.com)
Ingredients
- 1 pound baby carrots
- 1/4 cup margarine or butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
Directions
- Cook carrots in a large pot of boiling water until tender. Drain off the liquid, leaving bottom of pan barely covered with water. Set the carrots aside.
- Stir margarine/butter and brown sugar into the pan. Simmer and stir until the margarine/butter melts. Return carrots to the pot, and toss to coat. Cover, and let sit for a few minutes to allow flavors to mingle.
Honey Glazed Ginger Carrots (www.allrecipes.com)
Ingredients
- 1 pound carrots, sliced
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 1/2 tablespoons honey
- 1 pinch ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice, or to taste
Directions
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add carrots and cook until tender but still firm, about 5 minutes. Drain.
- In a large skillet over low heat, melt butter with honey. Stir in ground ginger and lemon juice. Stir in carrots and simmer until heated through.
